Prison Break is officially coming back to FOX. We've known a series was in the works for a while but the network has now confirmed the hit drama will return as a "limited ultimate escapist event series."
Co-chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman announced the news on Friday at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. However, no plot details or premiere dates were revealed.
As previously announced, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will reprise their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. There is a tiny, insignificant issue with that though, as Michael died in the final episode which aired in 2009.

Speaking last August, Dana Walden said: "I would describe it as a bit of a sequel, it picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. The brothers will be back.
"Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience. Itll start after where we left the Scofields in the final season."
Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
