A heroic woman has been given a bravery award after fighting off an attacker with her house keys.
The unnamed 21-year-old woman was stalked through Sheffield for over a mile by Jonathon Holmes in November of last year.
After realising she was being followed, the woman got her phone out to call her partner and pulled her keys out for protection. It was then that Holmes ran at her, pushed her into bushes and tried to rape her.
The woman punched him twice in the stomach, then used the house keys to cut his face before biting down on his tongue saying "you won't do that to a woman again".

Scott Green of South Yorkshire Police told the woman:
"You displayed an astonishing level of bravery during this investigation, your actions undoubtedly deterred the offender from continuing his assault and your detailed recollection of such a traumatic event, led to the arrest, conviction and imprisonment of a very dangerous criminal.
"As a husband, as the father of a daughter and behalf of every woman in this city, I commend you.
"On behalf of South Yorkshire Police we recognise your bravery, selflessness and truly outstanding courage in helping make this city a safer place for every woman in it."
Jonathon Holmes was jailed for four and a half years.
